During 2008 Vancouver Island joined in on the fun of the Wish Trail Rides. We had the following rides take place: 1st Annual Oceanside Wish Trail Ride 1st Annual Courtney Wish Trail Ride 1st Annual Cowichan Valley Wish Trail Ride 1st Annual Victoria Wish Trail Ride The organizers from the above rides will be getting together in Mid January to plan out the rides for 2009. Each ride will be on a different weekend - so you riders can attend more than ride location if you'd like! We have had interest from Port Alberni to start a ride for 2009 as well. Anyone interested in hosting a ride for 2009 or helping out with an existing ride for 2009 please contact Jenn at ssiwishtrailride@hotmail.com or (250) 537-4994 as soon as possible. Join us at River Trail Ranch in Courtenay for the 2nd Annual Wish Trail Ride. In 2008 we raised $4000 now lets make it our goal to raise more than we did last year! Registration will begin on June 21st, 2009 at 10 am, with the trail ride leaving the farm at 11am. Remember there is a free lunch after the Trail ride for participants and volunteers, followed by a Raffle draw! You can earn raffle tickets by raising money through pledges - every $50 you raise will earn you one (1) raffle ticket. 1st ANNUAL SHAWNIGAN LAKE WISH TRAIL RIDE - 2009
Joining in for 2009 is Shawnigan Lake... if you aren't already involved in the Wish Trail Rides and live in the area, HERE IS YOUR CHANCE! If you are already involved in another ride we would still love to have your join us for the day! Registration will begin at 9am on June 20th, 2009 at 2888 Glen Eagles Rd. Trailers can be parked along the roadway & in the cul de sac - there is only a couple houses and therefore basically no traffic. At 10am we will head out onto the trails, which are very level and wide - if you drive your horses give us a call as you may be able to drive your horses on this trail ride. We will be enjoying a leisurely walk for about 2 hours and then returning to the farm to enjoy a free BBQ (for participants and volunteers). Make sure you have lots of pledges as your will receive one (1) free raffle ticket for every $50 you raise when you register in the morning and following the BBQ we will be raffleing off a variety of prizes! There is no need to pre-register, however if we know our numbers it ensures we have enough food for the BBQ (& of course not too many left overs!). For those that pre-register by April 15th, 2009 and confirm that they will have raised a minimum of $100 - receive a free T-shirt being designed for the ride! Our order needs to be put in by April 15th, 2009 hence the deadline! Also we will be selling "Wish" Tank tops (you can see a picture of them under the Saltspring Island tab) These shirts are $20 if ordered by April 15th, 2009 and $25 afterwards - there will be some for sale at the event (but sizes may be limited). 2nd ANNUAL VICTORIA WISH TRAIL RIDE - 2009
Victoria show us how big those hearts of yours are! 2008 was a getting organized year - but 2009 is going to be where we show the rest of the island how many caring horse people we have living in our community! Come out to the Elk/Beaver Lake Equestrian Facility to enjoy a 2 hour leisurely trail ride on May 2nd, 2009! We are going to be the first "Wish" Trail Ride to be hosted for 2009 in the Island District so let's make it go off with a BANG! Registration will begin at 9am, for every $50 you submit in pledges at this time you will receive one (1) free raffle ticket for some amazing prizes that are already coming in! The trail ride will head out at 10am followed by a free BBQ when we return to the facility! After the BBQ you will enjoy winning some amazing prizes during the raffle draw. There is plenty of parking and standing stalls to tie your horses up after the trail ride while you enjoy the afternoon eating and winning prizes! There is no need to pre-register - you can show up the day of with pledges in hand, but pre-registering does help us ensure we have the right amount of food for the BBQ! As a bonus those who pre-register by April 15th, 2009 and confirm that they will have raised a minimum of $100 will receive a free Tshirt made specially for the Island "Wish" Trail Rides!
